This leadership discovery program is designed to build leadership capacity for teachers of color. The two-year program includes a five-part workshop series in year one and a mentoring program in year two. The cost is minimal for participants and acceptance to the program is through an application process. Applications are typically due in late September.

 

The first year of the program will include the following seminars:

SESSION 1: Is a Leader in You Waiting to be Discovered? 
This session increases your awareness of the leadership role and gives you the opportunity to discover whether it is a role worth pursuing.


SESSION 2:  Discovering the Skills, Qualities, and Tools it Takes to be a School Leader
This session identifies the key skills, qualities and tools of effective school leaders.

SESSION 3: The Promise of Leadership
This session explores what it takes to be a good leader.

SESSION 4: Teacher Leaders as Advocates for Change
This session provides insight on how teacher leaders can be powerful advocates for raising student achievement, closing the achievement gap and changing building culture.

SESSION 5: What’s Next? Developing an Action Plan
This session helps bring you to a decision point if you decide to pursue a leadership role.

Nominate an Aspiring Leader for the 2017-2018 Cohort!


By signing and submitting this application, I understand that the CASE Leadership Development Diversity Program is designed to develop and discover leadership potential by offering a five-part leadership discovery seminar series for aspiring administrators of color. I also understand that anyone wishing to explore becoming a leader is welcome to apply. Participants are expected to attend all of the scheduled seminars.
Participation in the program neither guarantees nor necessarily increases the chance of being accepted into a hiring pool or getting an interview. Support from CASE and other grants will offset the cost of the program. Accepted applicants will pay $50 to participate in the program. CASE is managing this program because it is the priority of CASE to build leadership capacity for aspiring administrators of color.
